I would sell for a large return. I picked this strategy because of the industry my business would be in and that is the app industry. The decisions I have made will cause large short term growth. Eventually there will be copycats and or similar apps that will begin to appear on the market. I believe my decision will help me identify future opportunity through looking for a specific need in a certain industry.
Selling the venture is a great idea when it comes to apps. Apps go obsolete quickly unless it has some sort of dominance, like Youtube app, iTunes, or even facebook. Apps that are not so dominant ans serve more peripheral functions can easily be replaced or displaced. It is impossible to create an app that can remain relevant forever (unless it is iTunes....).

Hey Fernando,
ReplyDeleteGreat plan and reasoning, apps are really not long terms businesses because so many people copy them like you said. Selling your app at its peak may be tricky and if you delay or sell to soon you may not get such a large return it this way it will be much like a stock. Knowing the value of your business will allow you to sell it at the right price because over-speclating may cause you to delay. Hello Fernando,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your post. I also wanted to sell my business off in the future. I think that you had a great idea, and I hope to see it come to fruition for you. My business was a clothing business not an app, but we had similarities in our plans. Great job overall with your post. Keep up the good work.
